Overview
Spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPaG) are the quiet foundations behind every confident reader and writer. In The Word Workshop, we make these skills clear, practical and genuinely enjoyable. Through games, short challenges and lots of guided practice, children learn not just the rules but why they matter — and how to use them in their own writing. The programme supports everything your child is learning at school and prepares them for the KS2 SATs grammar, punctuation and spelling paper and the English sections of the 11+.

From full stops and commas to apostrophes, inverted commas and colons, children learn how each mark guides the reader and how to use it accurately.
Grammar That Makes Sense
Children explore word classes, clauses, tenses and sentence types, building the language they need to understand and talk about their own writing.
Putting It All Together
Children apply their skills in short pieces of writing and practise SATs-style and 11+ style questions, building speed, accuracy and confidence.
